| Over an hour-and-a-quarter of superb organ music, to demonstrate the capabilities of Cavaillé-Coll’s magnificent Toulouse instrument, brilliantly played by its present incumbent Michel Bouvard, who includes works by Widor, Franck, Liszt and Vierne (closing with the latter’s splendid ‘Westminster Carillon’), as well as two Bach transcriptions, one by himself and the other by Alexandre Guilmant, who was the first to play the instrument at its 1889 inauguration. |
