This CD release includes all the singles recorded by Omara Potuondo from 1967 to the present day, plus several tracks that appeared only in compilation albums of various artists. Tracks 2, 3, 8 & 16 have never been issued outside of Cuba before.

Her backing musicians on these recordings read like a who’s who of modern Cuban music: Chucho Valdés, Hilario Durán (p); Juan Pablo Torres (tb), Manuel "El Guajiro" Mirabal (tp), Richard Egües (fl), Pancho Amat (tres), Martín Rojas (g), Rafael Lay (vln), Orlando López "Cachaíto" (b), Amadito Valdés, Tata Güines (Cuban percussion); Rafael Somavilla (dir), Orquesta Aragón; Orquesta Cubana de Música Moderna, and many others.

This material had been previously locked away in the vaults collecting dust, but two years of extensive investigation by Malanga Music in Havana's Areíto studio archives have brought these gems to light. The tracks have been digitised directly from the original masters, and this edition also boast a 20-page booklet featuring previously unpublished photos and texts in English and Spanish, written by important Cuban musicologists and journalists
