| At the end of the 50’s, Spanish cinema underwent a long-delayed modernization relaxing censorship, bringing it more in line with other European countries. This affected scripts, camerawork and even sound tracks - with jazz being used for the first time. This collection of rare jazz soundtrack material is accompanied by fragments of film dialogue to give dramatic & period flavour. These films, from the late 50’s to the mid-60’s, marked the beginnings of Spanish ‘film noir’.
