“Silence-Light” is the first release of the flamenco percussionist and composer Nacho Arimany. His World-Flamenco Septet has been formed to explore his varied musical influences and those of his fellow musicians in the group : the great creativity and power of saxophonist Javier Vercher, guitarist (and vocalist) Lionel Loueke who is also in Herbie Hancock’s band, the gipsy soul of pianist Pablo Suarez, the great voice of flamenco gipsy singer Antonio Campos, the superb jazz bass sound of Massimo Biocalti, and the percussive steps and passion of flamenco dancer Concha Jareño. These ‘live sessions’ were recorded at Systems Two Studio in New York during the spring 2006. It’s a wonderful trip through a myriad of world music styles.
