This classical-jazz project, originally recorded in 1972 centred around the ‘Sonate Pour Deux Pianistes’ composed by Claude Bolling for Jean-Bernard Pommier on ‘classical’ piano and Bolling himself on ‘jazz’ piano. There are two other Bolling compositions on this release : ‘A La Francaise’ for jazz piano trio and string quartet; and ‘Jazz Concerto for Piano & Orchestra’ featuring Bolling on piano with Max Hediguer on bass and Marcel Sabiani on drums. This recording predated the first of Bolling’s famous classical-jazz Suites.
