The release of this CD marks the 50th birthday of Sainkho Namchylak : the extraordinary and totally unique, cult artist from Tuva - with her seven-octave vocal range and her often shaved-head appearance. “Nomad” is a compilation consisting of 14 songs presenting Sainkho in different contexts from solo to large ensemble and in various vocal styles, accompanied by different sets of musicians.

During her professional career, which began in 1986, she has covered many genres of singing : including traditional folklore, world fusion, improvised jazz, avant garde & experimental - performing at an equally wide span of events from world music festivals to classical concert halls and from electronica/dance gigs to Buddist & shamanistic rituals. Almost half of the songs here have never been released in the West before.
