Two early albums on one CD by leading Creole-Cuban trombonist - Juan Pablo Torres : "Mangle: Instrumental" (1975), and "Grupo Algo Nuevo" (1981), both originally on the Areíto label. Torres is the director & arranger throughout, as well as the lead soloist on the second session, featuring his band Algo Nuevo. The first session features the Egrem Orchestra with master pianist Pedro Coto. 20 tracks - Total Time: 65:57

The new Malanga label was established to uncover outstanding rare Cuban recordings, locked away in vaults collecting dust - and two years of extensive investigation in Havana's Areíto studio archives have brought many gems to light. Malanga CDs have been digitised directly from the original masters, and many have never been on CD before. These editions have 20-page booklets featuring previously unissued photos and English and Spanish texts, written by important Cuban musicologists and journalists.
