Rare, long out of print, Bill Evans Trio concerts backed by Swedish musicians at the famous "Golden Circle", Stockholm, featuring Palle Danielsson, bass, & Rune Carlsson, drums. There are 3 bonus tracks with Bill Evans (p), Eddie Gomez (b), Jack De Johnette (d). Alfred Antonini (conductor) and the CBS orchestra added on 2 tracks; and John Lewis (p) added on the other, recorded live in New York, July 13, 1968. The most unusual track here is "Granadas", which Evans had recorded in the studio with Claus Ogerman in 1965 for the album “Bill Evans Trio with Symphony Orchestra”.

Fortunately, the two radio broadcasts from these Golden Circle performances were preserved for posterity (the great Bud Powell had been extensively recorded there only three years earlier). Although they were recorded with amateur equipment, which produced less than perfect sound quality, these Stockholm sets are fascinating from a musical standpoint, for they present Evans playing a different program from normally; and these are the only known recordings of Bill playing with Palle Danielsson and Rune Carlsson.
