Veterans of European world music, Bratsch, celebrate over 30 years on the road together with their sixteenth album, Plein du Monde (EMI France, 2007) featuring guest artists Khaled, Lhasa, Charles Aznavour, Olivia Ruiz, Nourith and others.
This album is being re-promoted to coincide with Bratsch appearing at London’s Bush Hall, in May 2008, as part of the annual Balkan Fever Festival.
Bratsch were one of the first groups in western Europe to immerse themselves in the bitter-sweet sounds of the Balkans and to perform these side by side with French ‘chanson’ and ‘manouche’ styles.
Exuberant and heartfelt violin, clarinet, and accordion and a tight rhythm section make for dancing, singing, laughing and crying with these plunderers of good music from Europe’s far corners.
