· “Tangents” is the remarkable new album by UK ensemble Tango Siempre, featuring saxophone wizard Gilad Atzmon and drum master Steve Arguelles, and is released on the German-Spanish label, Galileo - in a beautifully designed digipak sleeve with 16-page booklet.
· Tango Siempre’s music is passionate, intense, soulful and unique on the British musical scene, breathing new life into nuevo tango with fiery improvisation, sparkling collective interplay and solid grooves. The core members of the band are : violinist Ros Stephen, pianist Jonathan Taylor & accordionist Pete Rosser - with additional guests : Bethan Lewis, viola, & Yaron Stavi, double bass, on the album.
· Their repertoire includes powerful new works by members of the group and innovative commissions from composers as diverse as Pablo Ziegler (pianist from Piazzolla’s quintet), Huw Warren and Will Gregory (of Goldfrapp).
· Tango Siempre are dedicated live performers, having given over 1000 performances since their formation in 1998. They have also collaborated with internationally renowned artists including the London Mozart Players, virtuoso bandoneonist Victor Villena of Gotan Project, saxophonist Iain Ballamy, Arte Latino Cultural Project, Bedlam Dance and Diversions Dance.
