This CD features a collection of songs by three ensembles of "Gaïteros" recorded live on tour in Europe and Colombia. The music of the Gaïteros blends the Indian 'gaita' flutes and the African 'alegre' drums, along with versified Creole songs, sometimes sustained by an alto sax or a clarinet. Cumbia, porro, puya, faroto and merengue, the styles of the Atlantic coast of Colombia are the result of the blending of mystical melodies of Caribbean origin and African rhythms. Nature, humour and erotic games, are some of the many themes of these songs full of vitality, that sometimes reach the borders of trance.
