· Caceres – piano player, vocalist & songwriter -- has become the torch bearer for contemporary tango, continually refreshing and expanding the genre by digging up its Afro-European roots

· “Utopia” - co-produced by Caceres and Gotan Project guitarist Eduardo Makaroff - stretches beyond the boundaries of the tango form to encompass Argentinian music as a whole -- an emotional melange of tango, milonga, candombe and murga. It is Caceres’ 2nd release on Makaroff’s Manana label, following “Murga Argentina” (MM425004) in 2005.

· Subtle, understated interplay of piano, guitar, bandoneon – even at one point early New Orleans style brass – is the backdrop for Caceres’ voice, full of world weary tristesse. Music full of mystery and essential earthiness
