Grieg “arranged” four of Mozart’s piano sonatas for two pianos, by adding his own newly composed part, but without changing a note written by his “immortal master”. Outrage followed, of course, in parts of the contemporary musical establishment, but the result is enchanting – and, as the Classic FM reviewer wrote: “It is difficult to imagine…(the music)…sounding much better than on this beautifully played and recorded disc”
