• ECM guitarist John Abercrombie is joined by the internationally acclaimed Polish guitarist, Jarek Smietana on this subtle, melodic, swinging quartet album - with Harvie Swartz, bass and Adam Czerwinski, drums.

• This album was recorded in New York in 1999, but has never been released in the UK until now. There are three Abercrombie originals, 5 by Smietana, one co-composition plus a version of Jimmy Heath’s “Gingerbread Boy”.

• The Berklee-trained Abercrombie started playing professionally in the 60s, with Johnny Hammond - and then the Brecker Brothers Dreams band - followed by Gil Evans, Gato Barbieri, Chico Hamilton and Billy Cobham’s band - before singing to ECM in 1975.

• Jarek Smietana is one of Poland’s leading jazz musicians, who has worked with Art Farmer, Freddie Hubbard, Eddie Henderson, Joe Zawinul, Gary Bartz, Hamiet Bluiett, Idris Muhammad, and many others.
