· Bibi Tanga is a young, Paris-based African (born in Bangui - Central African Republic) who combines soul, funk, hip hop, jazz, gospel and Afro-beat in his own unique hybrid kaleidoscope of black music traditions. He has produced a seriously hip, soulful, attention-grabbing album with Yellow Gauze.
· A versatile singer and accomplished musician (who plays guitar, bass and saxophone), Bibi Tanga can combine Curtis Mayfield’s falsetto, James Brown’s funk and Sly Stone’s experimentation - but with shades of Fela Kuti, Bembaya Jazz and the TPOK jazz of Franco.
· His first album Le vent qui souffle, released in 2000 on the Hipi Music label, also had a strong Afro-funk groove, following collaborations with the Malka Family. In 2003, he met Professeur Inlassable, a music junkie and studio sorcerer, and his partner on this new album.
· Professeur Inlassable released a similarly cross-genre album, Leçon Numéro Un, on the Ici d’Ailleurs label in 2004. Bibi and the Professeur have already had strong press & public reaction to Yellow Gauze and their recent live performances.
