· The complete master takes by the Clifford Brown-Max Roach Quintet featuring Harold Land on tenor sax. Includes all the music from the original albums “Clifford Brown & Max Roach”, “Brown & Roach Inc.” and “Study in Brown”, plus many alternate takes originally issued on the LP “More Study in Brown” and in later compilations.

· Recorded in Los Angeles, August 2-6, 1954 & New York, February 23-25, 1955, with Clifford Brown trumpet, Max Roach drums, Harold Land tenor sax, Richie Powell piano and George Morrow bass.

· A previous Essential Jazz Classics volume (EJC 55407) compiled all the studio sessions by the Brown-Roach quintet featuring Sonny Rollins. The sessions contained here are considered essential and classic, not only for the amazing trumpet playing, but also for the overwhelming interaction and understanding between Brownie and Roach, and between all the members of the band.

· 2 CD edition - 31 tracks - Total Time: 157:47 - recently chosen as one of the 100 Jazz Albums Of All Time by Carlos Sampayo, the prestigious Spanish jazz critic, writer and journalist.
