• The Alpaca Ensemble grew out of the classical Alpaca Trio, comprised of Norwegian musicians : Else Bø (piano) Marianne Baudouin Lie (cello) and Sigrid Elisabeth Stang (violin).

• Composer & saxophonist Eirik Hegdal and percussionist Tor Haugerud were then added to complete the ensemble. Both musicians (from more of a jazz background) had worked with them on their previous Jazzaway release, the Jazzaway EP “Skrapanel”.

• “Tapet! Tapet! (‘tapet’ is Norwegian for wallpaper) is a meeting of jazz & classical, combining the formality of written music and the freedom of improvisation. It features 18 often relatively short but rich and sometimes intense pieces exploring small changes, subtle nuances, open space and quiet intervals.
