Microgravity is the first album from Biosphere, a name which succinctly describes Norwegian musician Geir Jenssen.

Microgravity was originally released on the small label Origo Sound in 1991, then picked up by Belgian label R&S in 1992 for worldwide distribution, becoming the first album release on their ambient subsidary Apollo Records.

The album was a key moment in the birth of the "ambient techno" genre, which combined the dancefloor beats from techno with floating ambient soundscapes.
