• With Karin Christoph on violin, Thomas Denker, accordion, and Reinhard Rohrs, double bass, they give their own fresh, modern interpretation to the genre - adding influences from the American Yiddish tradition as well as a Balkan elements - and avoiding the over-nostalgic cliches of the 19th Century ‘Shtetl’ style.

• “In Adess” refers to Odessa, the city on the Black Sea - the subject of many Yiddish songs.
