• On their second CD, the German Klezmer group, Trio Kali Gari, present a lyrical, evocative album of traditional Jewish / Yiddish songs & dances.
• With Karin Christoph on violin, Thomas Denker, accordion, and Reinhard Rohrs, double bass, they give their own fresh, modern interpretation to the genre - adding influences from the American Yiddish tradition as well as a Balkan elements - and avoiding the over-nostalgic cliches of the 19th Century ‘Shtetl’ style.
