• Americana from France ? - but you couldn’t tell ! In fact, this new French-based 5-piece band are from the States, Switzerland, Vietnam & France. With an obvious affection for pre-WW2 American blues & folk music, and a part caberet-like atmosphere, they take us on a dusty, evocative road trip - adding other influences as they go : jazz, country, world music, celtic folk and a rock sensibility.
• Led by Rosemary Standley’s distinctive vocals, the band put together a fine rootsy blend of lonesome harmonica, guitar, dobro, banjo, fiddle, piano, hammond organ, bass, drums and washboard - played by Rosemary, and Charles Carmignac, Arthur B. Gillette, Thomas Puechavy, Stephan Zimmerli, who also sing.
• All songs are by the band and there are some beautiful, lilting, melodic songs as well as some rhythmic, uplifting, foot-tappers. The CD comes in a suitably down-home soft cover digipak, with a great 16-page booklet with lyrics, notes, and lots of period artwork & photos.
