• This DVD includes a superb solo performance in Copenhagen 1965; an extremely rare TV show filmed at the Half Note Club in New York in 1964 with Lee Konitz and Warne Marsh ; and two tracks featuring Tristano at the celebrated Berlin Jazz Piano Workshop on October 30, 1965.

• One of the Berlin tracks is solo; the other features Tristano with Jaki Byard, Bill Evans, Earl Hines, John Lewis and Teddy Wilson (piano), Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen (bass), & Alan Dawson (drums).

• Lennie Tristano (1919-1978) was widely recognized as a prime influence on modern jazz. Blind since infancy, he developed a very personal piano style which introduced new voicings to jazz and combined classical and jazz music structures.

• We are fortunate to have this DVD of rare footage, considering the scarcity of Tristano's filmed appearances - the Half Note performance appears on DVD for the first time ever.
