o For the past 20 years, accordionist Ricardo Tesi has been one of Italy’s leading musicians, with influence & reputation far beyond his homeland. He is not only a master musician but an archivist and revivalist of folklore traditions, but also a flexible, creative artist keen to incorporate and collaborate with many other genres : jazz, classical and all manner of world music.

o However, it is an inspired idea for Philippe Krumm of the Cinq Planetes label to invite Tesi (who normally records & performs in group settings) to record this solo album for diatonic accordion - allowing his many followers to re-engage with and re-assess Tesi the musician and instrumentalist.

o This is an intimate, personal, deeply thoughtful album full of references to different points of his career, so far - beautifully recorded so that every nuance and sound is captured. There is an assured simplicity in his undoubted virtuosity. This is an inventive, fascinating recording by a musician at the peak of his powers.
