• East Of The Sun is the fifth album by Tuatara - the band formed by R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck and Screaming Trees drummer Barrett Martin, and is released on Fast Horse Recordings, as were their previous two CDs).
• Additional band members include R.E.M. touring guitarist Scott McCaughey (also of the Young Fresh Fellows), bassist Kevin Hudson, vocalist-violinist-cellist Jessy Greene (ex-Geraldine Fibbers), trumpet/flugelhorn player Dave Carter, and saxophonist/flutist Craig Flory.
• Guests on the album include : Gary Louris (The Jayhawks), Mark Eitzel (American Music Club), Victoria Williams, Mark Olson, John Wesley Harding, Ottmar Liebert, Dean Wareham (Luna), Iraqi oudist Rajhim Alhaj & Sufi poet Coleman Barks
• Tuatara, having slowly evolved from an instrumental band to a full-fledged performing act, explores numerous musical genres, including '60s rock 'n' roll, western folk, spoken word vocals and various World Music influences : Spanish, Arabic, Asian and Lebanese.
• The four Tuatara albums on the Fast Horse label are now released in the UK for the first time, by Discovery Records - and are featured in the special REM issue of Q Magazine (April 2008)
