Artist:  TUATARA

Title:  Cinemathique

Label:  Fast Horse
Cat No FH001

• On their third release, the instrumental “Cinemathique”, Tuatara, formed in 1997 by R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck, Screaming Trees drummer Barrett Martin and Luna bassist Justin Harwood, employ a cast of well-known, multi-talented, indie-rock friends : Young Fresh Fellows/Minus 5 mastermind Scott McCaughey, Skerik of Critters Buggin, Joe Cripps, Eric Richards, Craig Flory and several others.

• Together, they create a fusion of acid jazz and ambient world music grooves with a high quality soundtrack feel that can jump from John Barry to Soft Machine, and can include the sounds of vintage keyboards, rich horn arrangements or even gamelan.

• “Cinemathique” was originally released in 2001, produced independently by Barrett Martin, and is the is the debut release on the band's own label, Fast Horse Recordings.

• The four Tuatara albums on the Fast Horse label are now released in the UK for the first time, by Discovery Records - and are featured in the special REM issue of Q Magazine (April 2008)
