When Grammy Award winner John Fahey passed away on February 22, 2001, he left behind a legacy of groundbreaking guitar styles, roots music innovations, and a generation of musicians who were inspired by his creative vision.
This tribute album features songs either written or inspired by Fahey, played by friends and admirers : John Renbourn, Stefan Grossman, George Winston, Woody Mann, Paul Geremia, Mark Lemhouse, Tinh Mahoney, Terry Robb, Mitch Greenhill, Peter Lang, Mayne Smith and John Doan.
Plus a never before released Fahey track : Why Haven't I Heard From You.
It's a fond farewell to the man they all considered to be a close friend and inspirational mentor; and these artists have generously donated their proceeds to the non-profit US Village School Foundation.
