16 tracks are taken from the original Capitol LP version, with 5 Bonus Tracks taken direct from the film soundtrack, featuring different orchestral backings.

“Pal Joey” was the most noteworthy film musical of 1957 in terms of personality, appeal, and a wealth of good songs. With a redoubtable Frank Sinatra in the music lead; the delicious ditties of songsmiths Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart; and musical; arrangements by Nelson Riddle.

Plus a saucy script adapted from John O’Hara’s racy book; and glamour queens Kim Novak and Rita Hayworth making the utmost of the colour photography, stylish costumes and eye-catching sets - not to speak of some very expert vocal dubbings by Trudy Ewen (for Kim) and Jo Anne Greer (for Rita).

Sinatra’s performance, and his magnificent renditions of “The Lady Is A Tramp” and “I Could Write A Book” won him a Golden Globe for best actor, and a Golden Laurel for top musical performance.
