New Orleans-born Larry Garner is one of the most gifted blues guitarist-vocalist-songwriters of his generation. Here Today, Gone Tomorrow is his eighth album - reunited with his regular band, plus guests Buckwheat Zydeco and Henry Gray, he develops his own distinctive roots-based blues.
Born in 1952, Larry Garner grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, discovering the blues with Silas Hogan, Clarence Edwards, Slim Harpo and Jimmy Reed. First playing the guitar in a gospel quartet, he then got his influences from Jimi Hendrix and the pop music of the sixties.
After serving in Korea, he worked in a chemicals factory before pursuing his music career - playing the Baton Rouge club scene; releasing two albums in the mid-90s on the English JSP label; winning the B.B. King Award; and releasing two superb albums on Verve/ Gitanes, "You Need To Live A Little" and "Baton Rouge".
