o Tunya’ is the second album by Guinean kora and balafon player/singer/composer and former Afro Celt Soundsystem member N´Faly Kouyaté - and follows his 2004 debut ‘Kora Grooves’. Both albums were recorded with his band Dunyakan (‘the Voice of the World’).

o N’Faly was born into one of the most celebrated families of griots among the Manding people (one of the largest ethnic groups in West Africa); his father was Konkoba Kabinet Kouyate. Despite being traditionally trained from an early age, and also performing with the University Troupe of Conakry, N’Faly has been influenced by such Western music as Rock, Hip-Hop, Jazz and Classical.

o After his brilliant presentation opening for Salif Keïta at Africa Center (London) in 1995, he joined the Real World group, Afro-Celt Sound System, leading him to perform on the best world festival stages such as Glastonbury, Montreux Jazz Festival, Womad, Central Park NY Summerstage, Guilford Festival, Montréal, Québec, etc. In 1999, the 2nd Afro Celt Sound System album, on which N'faly brilliantly participated, was nominated for a World Music Grammy; as was their third CD.
