Colette's novel about an independent minded young girl in fin de sičcle France is now better known for the musical which it inspired -- filmed with Maurice Chevalier & Lesley Caron and recently revived on the British stage. Here the original book is read in French by Daničle Delorme, who played Gigi in a 1948 movie adaptation of the story.
