New York singer-songwriter Vonda Shepard came to fame in 1997 as the singer (and composer) of the theme song (‘Searchin’ My Soul’) for the hit US tv series ‘Ally McBeal’, and as a regular cast member. She went on to record four hugely successful albums of material from the Ally McBeal shows
From The Sun is her new album - all composed by the singer and over-seen by top producer Mitchell Froom (Richard Thompson, Suzanne Vega, Paul McCartney, Los Lobos, Crowded House, etc). It’s an album of high quality AOR pop-rock with touches of soul and R&B.
In her teens she had recorded a duet with Dan Hill, and later toured as a backing singer for Jackson Browne. She recorded her debut album for Reprise in 1989 - a second, The Radical Light, in 1992, and a third It’s Good Eve in 1996 (from which the Ally McBeal theme song was lifted).
