Recordings by Maurice and Marie-Madeleine Duruflé are unfortunately quite rare. All the more reason to savour the recordings of a concert given at Sallanches on August 7th. 1970 which, despite being recorded ‘live’, reveals the many talents of these two gifted organists. The recital gives a fairly accurate idea of the highly eclectic programmes that were appreciated by organists and their public at the time. It consists of early Romantic and more modern works which represent a period spanning the first half of the 18th Century to the 1950’s.
