• Further adventures of the ‘Combo from the Congo’ and which follows the group to the Caribbean where they helped lay down the roots of zouk music.

• Ry-Co Jazz (an acronym of ‘Rhythme-Congolaise’ and pronounced ‘Ree-Co’), left the Congo in 1958 for some Christmas and New Year gigs upriver in neighbouring Central African Republic. For some members of the group, that tour was to last 13 years.

• By 1967 they were in the French Antilles. Joined by legendary saxophonist Jean Serge Essous and supported by guests such as Jean Claude Naimro (of Kassav), the tracks they recorded during their extended stay were a vital influence on the all-powerful zouk music, which later rocked the French Antilles, parts of Africa and chic clubs of continental Europe, in the 1980s.
