• For years Popa Chubby has artfully combined the rootsiness of blues with the more modern urban elements of today's popular music. But now here is his new recorded opus : “Vicious Country” - totally Country music and Rockabilly oriented. A kind of travel through the 50’ and the 60’ and a tribute to the famous Sun label. There are 2 bonus video clips as well.

• But let’s Popa Chubby introduce the album : “I’ve always kept the company of Outlaws and my earliest memories of baddass chicken pickin' guitar come from a sound south of the Bronx. Galea grew up the daughter of a Truck Drivin’ Man and was only to thrilled to introduce me to the world of Twang and Rumble”.

• Galea brought home a great record by Hank III, the Grandson of the late Hank Williams, and it got Popa and Galea digging back into their respective roots : discovering & rediscovering Merle Haggard, Gram Parsons, the Stones and Gene Vincent and Elvis. Popa wanted to record “Sleepwalk” (by Santo and Johnny 1960) and “Six Days On The Road” (by Dave Dudley); and his own Sun inspired “Baby You Don’t Care” completed with Jordanaires-style vocals; and Galea’s homage to the Great Sam Lay, Howlin’ Wolf’s flamboyant drummer and an avid pistolero.

• There was also some chance meetings of two amazing musicians: Claude Langlois who is a brilliant steel and slide man and Doug Moody the mad fiddler, who both joined the recording session.

• The big, bad guitar king from the Bronx is comin’ to get you - watch out for UK gigs in February & March 2009.
