Gipsy.cz are a four-piece band from the Czech Republic who mix traditional Romani music with hip hop, rap, pop and R&B. “Reprezent” is their second album, coming a year and a half after the release of the highly successful debut CD, “Romano Hip Hop”.

“Reprezent” has been chosen as a Top of the World new release in the March issue of Songlines - and UK concert dates are being scheduled for 2009.

Gipsy.cz has experienced some hectic times since the successful release of the debut album. In summer 2008, they were the first Czech band to perform at Glastonbury festival, and on many other European stages.

Gipsy.cz’s video for “Romano Hip Hop” made it all the way to the European MTV hit parade World Chart Express. The band won the 2006 Anděl award in the Discovery of the Year category as well as many other prizes (ALMA 2007, Filter magazine 2007, etc.). They also climbed their way up to the European World Music top ten chart.

Last year, Gipsy’s front man, Radek “Gipsy” Banga, became the ambassador of the EU campaign the “European Year of Equal Opportunities”.
