Born in Lausanne in 1968, the Franco-Swiss Richard Dubugnon is composer in residence of the Orchestre and Opéra National de Montpellier. His Arcanes Symphoniques (Symphonic Arcanas) for large orchestra represents musical illustrations of a Tarot deck’s esoteric cards. Taking inspiration from their symbols, characters and esoteric meaning he composed for each of the major Arcana (main cards of the Tarot) a symphonic movement lasting 2 to 6 minutes.
