• Cankisou are one of the most distinctive and popular Czech bands due to their charasmatic lead singer Karel Herman, and their ability to make almost all audiences dance - thanks to universal rhythms and melodies of the Canki people.

• But Cankisou, formed in 1999, also incorporate influences from rock, and roots music, including world music styles from territories as diverse as Pakistan, Ukraine, Réunion island in the Indian ocean and Creole traditions.

• Cankisou’s music has an infectious energy, led by Karel Herman´s remarkable voice and the rich spectrum of instruments the band use : balafon, accordion, tarabuka, yarin, flutes, didjeridoo, alto sax, soprano sax, jinagovi, bass quitar, mandoline, drums, and percussion.

• There is also a video on the “Lé La” CD. It was shot mainly in Pakistan while the band participated in World Performing and Visual Arts Festival there. Famous Pakistan singer Sain Zahoor who received BBC World Music Award in 2006 appears at the video too.
