Felix Nowowiejski (1877-1946) is a preeminent representative of Polish religious music of the first half of the 20th century. His works encompass an extensive and varied repertoire, including the typical forms of religious music such as liturgical and concert compositions. This release features two of the 9 masses that he composed, Missa Pro Pace is distinguished by an intense emotional and dramatic charge, whilst Missa Stella Maris was written for the ceremony of the future Maritime Basilica in Gdynia ( sadly never built!)
