• Now one of the greatest living jazz pianists, Kenny Barron recorded this fine hard bop studio sessions for the Black Hawk label in 1984. It’s a duets album with either Ron Carter or Michael Moore on bass.

• The album presents a selection of jazz classics and well-known standards, including compositions by Ellington, Coltrane, Monk, Gershwin, Dave Brubeck and an original by Moore.

• Before leading his own groups, Barron had worked with Dizzy Gillespie, Yusef Lateef, Freddie Hubbard, James Moody, Joe Henderson, Stanley Turrentine, Tyrone Washington, Booker Ervin, and many others.
