Daniel Tosi composed Horizons Chimériques in 2008 after being introduced to the hurdy-gurdy player Dominique Regef. The basic idea was to blend the traditional sound of the instrument with an orchestra, the result is a surprising and captivating marriage wherein the hurdy-gurdy responds to the orchestras improvisation.
