• The Wynton Kelly heard here (1960-61) was at the peak of his fruitful collaboration with Miles Davis in the trumpeter’s celebrated quintet, which also featured John Coltrane - plus Paul Chambers & Jimmy Cobb, both present on some of these tracks.

• It is interesting to hear Kelly leading these trio recordings, displaying his own personality and playing some of his own compositions. Bassist Sam Jones and drummer Philly Jo Jones also feature.

• This limited LP edition is a special audiophile pressing on 180 gram virgin vinyl, with thick cardboard sleeve.
