As a songwriter and producer William “Mickey” Stevenson was one of the driving forces behind the extraordinary success of the Motown sound. He was Berry Gordy's first A&R director and organised the label's famous house band the Funk Brothers.

In 1971 he sought to re-establish himself as a singer and this disc combines two singles and an album recorded for British independent Ember, tracks previously unreleased on CD. Both the 45s and the original LP are now very collectable examples of crossover and seventies soul.
