• All surviving tracks from the 1962 Milan concert by the classic John Coltrane Quartet.

• There are four bonus tracks : two previously unheard tracks from the Olympia concert performed a few weeks earlier; and two more previously unissued tracks recorded live at the Le Tete de L’Art club in Montreal, the following year.

• All of this music appears on this CD for the first time on any format!

• The Milan performance took place several months after the departure of Eric Dolphy, and was recorded by a fan with amateur equipment, and sound quality is obviously not good, but has been improved as far as possible.

• Personnel : John Coltrane, tenor & soprano sax; Mccoy Tyner, piano; Jimmy Garrison, bass; Elvin Jones, drums - at Teatro Dell’Arte, Milan, Italy, December 2, 1962. Bonus tracks at L’Olympia, Paris, November 17, 1962 and at Le Tete de L’Art club, Montreal, between June 25th and July 4th. Total Time: 70:39 - 8 tracks.
