This month sees the world premiere release of Marcos Portugal’s glorious sacred work. This monumental work, composed in Rio de Janeiro in 1811 and recorded by Turicum Ensemble, is the first sacred work by the composer to be successfully restored by musicologists. Founded in 1992 by Brazilian singer Luiz Aves da Silva and Swiss violinist Mathias Weibel, the Turicum Ensemble is dedicated to the music of the Iberian peninsula and South America.
