The compositions on this CD date from 2002-2006 and both the Symphony No.7 and the Double Concerto are extended, three movement works for large symphony orchestra. Symphony No.7 was premiered in 2003, whilst the Double Concerto received a very warm reception on its first performance in Dublin in 2006. On a point of interest, Julius Berger (double concerto) plays one of the oldest cellos in the world, the Andrea Amati ‘King Charles IX’, dating from 1566.
