The Comedians was one of the biggest TV success stories of the 70s and 80s. The quick fire stand-up comedy show made stars of a whole host of artists including Frank Carson, Ken Goodwin, Charlie Williams and Bernard Manning. It was incredibly popular and achieved huge viewing figures as well as being nominated for a BAFTA nomination.
