From Academy Award-winning director Barry Levinson (Rain Man) comes the comedy AN EVERLASTING PIECE.
Against the turbulent backdrop of Belfast in the 1980s, fellow barbers, Colm, a Catholic and George, a Protestant, form an unlikely partnership to corner the toupee market in Northern Ireland. But with the rival hairpiece company, Toupee or Not Toupee, getting a jump on the competition, Colm and George have to come up with some creative sales techniques to bring a different kind of piece to Northern Ireland.
The film stars Barry McEvoy, Brian F. O’Byrne (a Tony nominee for The Beauty Queen Of Leenane on Broadway), as well as Scottish comedian Billy Connolly. In his first score since his summer blockbusters Gladiator and Mission Impossible 2, composer Hans Zimmer has created one of his most infectious and charming scores for this wonderful picture. Almost entirely Celtic in feeling and style, Zimmer’s music at times sounds as though you have just entered an Irish pub. Other pieces are beautiful and reflective but all within a traditional Irish framework. Zimmer’s score includes drums and fiddles, pipes and voices … it’s the most energetic salute to Ireland since Riverdance! It’s hauntingly beautiful and an enormous amount of fun.
Featuring:
• Talking Heads Life During War Time
• Talking Heads Burning Down The House
• David Bowie with Queen Under Pressure
• Van Morrison On Hyndford Street
• The Bothy Band Fionnghuala
• Billie Valentine Love Charade #10
• The Clancy Brothers Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ye
