Louis Malle's Damage is the dangerous and erotic story of a man's obsessive love affair with his son's girlfriend and the inevitable tragic consequences for his family and himself.

As his 50th birthday approaches, his life holds no fears for Stephen Fleming (Jeremy Irons), a respected Member of Parliament and Junior Minister who enjoys the confidence of the Prime Minister and is likely to be promoted to even higher office.
