This Twentieth Century Fox motion picture from 1952 starred Marlon Brando as Mexican revolutionary Emiliano Zapata and Anthony Quinn, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Zapata`s brother Eufemio.
This is the CD premiere of Alex North`s Academy Award nominated score, which inspired much of the music in Andrew Lloyd Webber`s EVITA.
For many years now, Jerry Goldsmith has been conducting excerpts from this score in his concerts around the world. Finally he has made this stunning 20-bit digital recording of North`s Mexican masterpiece. |
