• JazzKamikaze are five incredible Scandinavian musicians, based in Denmark. Their name is slightly misleading, because the jazz element in their work has been partly absorbed within a rock music structure, but they play and blend both genres with equal skill & authority.
• ‘Supersonic Revolutions’ is their third album and is their most adventurous, but also most commercial - with strong production and memorable songs throughout. They have forged a totally satisfying alliance of rock, pop and jazz, where they can perhaps sound like Weather Report playing unissued Prefab Sprout songs, one minute, and Mahavishnu Orchestra jamming with Metallica, the next. Their style is not easily pigeon-holed.
• Formed in 2005, they rapidly attracted favourable attention - winning ‘Young Jazz’ and ‘Young Nordic Jazz Comets’, two prestigious talent competitions in Northern Europe. They have been a particularly active international touring act ever since. It was during the New York mix sessions of their 2007 release, ‘Travelling at the Speed of Sound’, that the band was noticed by senior executives of Sony Studios. The following year JazzKamikaze signed with SevenSeas Music, a newly-founded American/Japanese record label who release this new album.
• The quality of the tunes, all of which have a memorable hook, is as impressive as the virtuoso musicianship. The songs have a very natural ebb and flow of intensity. This band is as brilliant when cruising as when thundering at full throttle. – Ian Patterson, All About Jazz.
